Marvel"s 2025 slate for the MCU will begin with a show relatively similar to What If...? season 3. Marvel Studios released only one MCU movie in 2024 — Deadpool & Wolverine, which earned itself a spot among the Marvel Cinematic Universe"s biggest box office hits. On the small screen, Marvel expanded the MCU"s TV scope with the Marvel Spotlight series Echo and the X-Men: The Animated Series revival X-Men "97, as well as the WandaVision spinoff Agatha All Along and the third season of its only anthology series, What If...? season 3.
What If...? season 3 introduced another set of alternate timelines inhabited by a wide variety of unique Marvel characters, from a Celestial-powered Agatha Harkness to a Mjolnir-wielding Storm to over a dozen wild What If...? variants who didn"t make the cut for an episode of their own. Although the Marvel multiverse technically provides enough material for several more seasons, What If...? season 3 marks the final outing of the MCU"s first original animated show. However, What If...? season 3 won"t be the last animated series in Marvel Studios" repertoire.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to release on January 29 2025, taking place in a brand-new Marvel timeline where Peter Parker gains recognition as Spider-Man under Norman Osborn"s wing. In this universe, Spider-Man faces a long list of classic Marvel villains such as Doctor Octopus, Scorpion, Tombstone, and Chameleon, and he teams up with heroes such as Daredevil, Doctor Strange, and Nico Minoru.
