Sony Puts The Final Nail In The Coffin Of Their Spider-Man Universe By Removing An Untitled Marvel Movie From Their 2025 Release Slate
Sony officially removes its last Marvel project, suggesting that Sony"s Spider-Man Universe has ended. Sony"s Spider-Man Universe began in 2018 with Venom and continued with five more Marvel movies: Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Morbius, Madame Web, and Venom: The Last Dance. Sony planned to expand this blooming franchise with at least two other projects: El Muerto starring Bad Bunny and Hypno Hustler starring Donald Glover. However, these two movies have been canceled.
Sony Pictures has officially updated its domestic release calendar. Darren Aronofsky"s Caught Stealing has been moved to August 29, 2025; Sony and Blumhouse"s untitled Insidious project has been delayed one full year, to August 21, 2026; and Sony"s untitled Marvel film, which was originally slated for June 27, 2025, has been removed from the studio"s slate. Further details about Sony"s only remaining Marvel movie are still unknown.
